Ask and Receive

Ask and Receive! As we continue our devotionals from John 16, we come to some very interesting verses. Jesus said, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

23. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.

24. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Ask and Receive

As we continue our devotionals from John 16, we come to some very interesting verses. Jesus said, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it to you.

Did He really mean it? Were these just words He spoke to the disciples that only applied to them, and not to us today? No! As Christians our faith is often so paltry. We have the power of God available to us, but we walk and live as though we are helpless.

It is time that we wake up and realize the power of God within our hearts, made available to us, just as it was to the disciples 2000 years ago. We have work to do; work ordained by God, himself! By the grace of God, we must strive to let the things of this world go, and be busy advancing God's kingdom by using the abilities He has given to us.

At a time when a large percent of the people of the United States call themselves Christians, why do we see such a rise of wickedness all around us?

I believe that Christians are so busy living in the world, that they have forgotten their true purpose for being here. It is time that we start living as Christians right where God has put us. We must pray for the grace of God to help us truly love the lost just as Jesus loved them.

Does that sound impossible? It is not, for Jesus said, Ask and receive!

Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
