Who is God?

Sky, Clouds

Who is God? As we traverse through this series of teen devotionals answering this question, my goal is to help you and me to gain a better understanding of Him so that our love for Him may grow deeper and deeper, and our lives will reflect His glory.

Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? Psalm 77:13

For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods. Psalm 95:3

For I know that the LORD is great, And our Lord is above all gods. Psalm 135:5

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. Psalm 145:3

Who is God?

What a question! No matter who you ask, you are likely to get a different answer! The verses from the Psalms shown above have a great deal to say about the greatness of God, ending with, And His greatness is unsearchable.

Who is your God? If His greatness is unsearchable, how can you ever expect to understand Him?

As always we must turn our eyes to the Word of God. Though we will never understand God perfectly in this life, there is much we can know and apply to our own daily walk with Him.

As we traverse through this series of teen devotionals answering this question, my goal is to help you and me to gain a better understanding of Him so that our love for Him may grow deeper and deeper, and our lives will reflect His glory.

God Bless You,

Linda

God is a Consuming Fire! As teens (as adults, too) thinking of the phrase God is a consuming fire can make us quite uncomfortable; we love studying about the love of God, the faithfulness of God, the grace of God, but to think of Him as a fire conjures up all sorts of ideas and fears.

God is King  God is King! What an amazing privilege Christians have to live under the Kingship of God! This King is Holy, Righteous, Pure, Perfect, Just, Loving, Kind, etc. and He gives to us joy, peace, safety, comfort, protection, and eternal life in Heaven with Him.

God our Judge Who is God our Judge? Often judgment has a negative connotation, but looking at Psalm 36 and 2 Peter helps us to see that there are two sides to judgment, a negative side and a positive side.

God our Leader Who is God our Leader? In the Bible passages Exodus 33, Isaiah 48, and 2 Corinthians 2, we see God leading Moses, God leading His people, and God leading His people to spread the Gospel everywhere. Does God still lead us today just as He lead Moses in Exodus 33? Is there a specific relationship between these three passages?

God our Teacher Job 36 reminds us that there is no teacher like God our Teacher. In truth, every subject you study should be compared with Scripture. Trying to learn any subject apart from the truths of the Bible can certainly lead you astray!
