Show You Plainly

Show You Plainly. Have you ever been unsure of the meaning of certain Bible passages? Yes, of course! We all have. It is this struggling with Bible meanings and interpretations which has fractured the Christian community into so many pieces. The disciples experienced the same thing!

25. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

26. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

27. For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

28. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.

John 16:25-28, King James Version

Show You Plainly

Have you ever been unsure of the meaning of certain Bible passages? Yes, of course! We all have. It is this struggling with Bible meanings and interpretations which has fractured the Christian community into so many pieces. The disciples experienced the same thing!

It is important that we remember the words above from John 16, spoken by Jesus to His disciples. At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: for the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

What an interesting Bible passage. Do you realize what Jesus is saying? He is saying, "I do not have to ask God to help you, for the the Father already loves you." Why? "He loves you because you love me, and believe that I came out from God."

It is almost too good to be true, is it not? God already loves us and is ready to work on our behalf. As a matter of fact, God not only loves us, but He has created each of us with special strengths and abilities so that we may serve Him right where He has put us.

Let us, by God's grace, seek the things of the Lord, and not the things of this earth. By the grace of God, whose power we already have, let us leave the things of this world which so quickly divert us from the Lord, and seek to grow in the love of Christ, so that we may spread that love to all those who are around us.

What an amazing God we have!
