Lord of Peace

Lord of Peace. We end our section on spiritual peace with a benediction from 2 Thessalonians 3. only from Christ can we receive peace in every way.

16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.

2 Thessalonians 3:16, NKJV

Lord of Peace

We end our section on spiritual peace with a benediction from 2 Thessalonians 3. Who is the Lord? Only from the Lord Jesus Christ can we receive peace in every way.

Let's look at some other benedictions that Paul used in his letters to the churches.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
1 Corinthians 16:23-24

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
2 Corinthians 13:14

Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
Galatians 6:18

Peace to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
Ephesians 6:23-24

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Philippians 4:23

Just imagine ending all of your conversations, letters, and emails with a benediction like these. It is so very important that we surround ourselves with the peace of God. It is really quite impossible most days, because we are so caught up in the stresses of daily living. However, nothing is impossible with God. Go to the Christ and ask Him to immerse you in the peace of God this day.

What amazing reminders of this wonderful God we serve. Even when we are embroiled in the adversities of life, we can have peace.

Does that mean that Christians are to go around with a smile on their face each and every moment of every day? No! We are not stones. We feel temptations, sorrows, grief, sadness, fear, and every other normal reaction to the troubles of this life. Yet we are not caught up in the struggles. The time comes when we fall before Christ and place all of our difficulties at the foot of the cross.

In Christ alone can we find peace, joy and contentment even when this world is filled with anguish, troubles, and moral decay. Let us, then, by the grace of God, turn our hearts and minds to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the One who saved us, who keeps us, and who will bring us safely home to live with Him forever!
