Doxology of David, Psalm 41. Just think of it; our God is a personal God. Not only does He bless His people through His provisions and protections against the wicked, but He blesses each and every one in specific ways according to their own personal needs.
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
Psalm 41:13, KJV
As David closes the first book of the five books of the Psalms, he concludes with the doxology shown above. It is interesting to note that upon reading Psalm 41, we discover that the entire Psalm leads to this glorious conclusion.
He begins with the words:
1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be
blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of
his enemies.
3 The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
Psalm 41:1-3, KJV
These
verses are followed by a personal testimony from David revealing God's
faithfulness in sustaining and protecting him even when abandoned by his
close friend. He then concludes his testimony in verse 12.
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
The doxology in verse 13 then pours out in response to David's reflections. Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting.
Just
think of it; our God is a personal God. Not only does He bless His
people through His provisions and protections against the wicked, but He
blesses each and every one in specific ways according to their own personal needs. He is not too busy, too
tired, too overcome by other duties, or too angry to be right there for
each and every one of His children, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Do we deserve such love? I think not! How can we help but respond in any other way than in this doxology?
Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting.
Amen, and Amen.
