Lonely Road of Faith
The Lonely Road of Faith is a series of devotions based upon The Great Hall of Faith found in Hebrews 11.

1Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
Hebrews 11:1-3, King James Version
Lonely Road of Faith
A series of devotions on the lonely road of faith would not be complete without considering The Great Hall of Faith found in Hebrews 11.
As we are speaking of faith, we will look into the hope and faith of those listed in Hebrews. Many are not mentioned by name, but their blind faith brought about persecution in this life, but great rewards in the life to come.
A Christian without faith is not a Christian! We all have lapses in our faith; sometimes our faith may ebb and wane, but the Christian life is a life of faith. We come to God in faith, we read and understand His Word through faith, and we walk every day of our lives with faith that this world is not our home. Our true home waits for us in heaven above where we will live with God forever.
What is faith? According to Hebrews 11:1, the substance of our faith is based upon things we hope for, and the evidence of our faith can not be seen. What kind of faith is that? Just think about that for a moment; true faith is a gift of God. The world can not understand Christians! Christians base their whole value system on things they hope for with no concrete evidence sitting right before their eyes.
Yes, it may seem foolish, but to the Christian it is the power of God unto salvation. It has always been this way from the beginning of time. The elders who received a good report were those who exhibited faith.
The world thinks it strange that Christians believe in a God who created this world in just six days. Yet, how ludicrous is it that the intricate life we see in plant, animals, and especially ourselves just happened by chance. It takes more "faith" to believe a lie than to believe the truth!
As we walk through this chapter in the next several devotions, I hope and pray that your faith as well as mine will be strengthened, as we look at the lives of those who walked the lonely road of faith.
What an amazing God we have!
