Psalm 56
A Bible Devotion from Psalm 56
3 Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. 4 In God (I will praise His word), in God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me? . . . You number my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in Your book? 9 When I cry out to You, then my enemies will turn back; this I know, because God is for me. 10 In God (I will praise His word), in the LORD (I will praise His word), 11 In God I have put my trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
Does God know when we hurt? Does He care? Many times it seems as though God is distant from us and doesn't know our troubles even exist. That is not true; God keeps our tears in His bottle, and writes them in His book! See how completely David believed and trusted this in verse 3. Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
When we really know and understand these truths, and make them our own standard for living the Christian life, then What can man do to me? This sure does simplify our walk with the Lord, doesn't it? Psalm 55 reminded us that God never allows the true Christian to be deceived by the craftiness of Satan, and Psalm 56 tells us that God is personally aware of all of our troubles and whenever we are afraid, we can put our complete trust in God.
Pray today that you can say with all confidence, God is for me; whenever I'm afraid I will trust in Him.
