Psalm 119 Vs 25-32 You Have Set My Heart Free

25. I am laid low in the dust;
preserve my life according to your word.
26. I recounted my ways and you answered me;
teach me your decrees.
27. Let me understand the teaching of your precepts;
then I will meditate on your wonders.
28. My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word.
29. Keep me from deceitful ways;
be gracious to me through your law.
30. I have chosen the way of truth;
I have set my heart on your laws.
31. I hold fast to your statutes, O LORD
do not let me be put to shame.
32. I run in the path of your commands,
for you have set my heart free.
Psalm 119:25-32
At the beginning of Psalm 119 Vs 25-32, we find the Psalmist laid low in the dust, and weary with sorrow. His response is to cry out to God for help in understanding the teaching of God's precepts. He then meditates on God's wonders and asks God to strengthen Him according to God's Word. This is so important for us to do; because we are so prone to sin and wander from the Lord, it is good to reflect upon our lives by comparing ourselves to God's Word.
As Christians we, too, have chosen the way of truth and need to set our heart on the Law of God. We live in a time when the laws of our countries may not necessarily be in accordance with the Word of God. In situations like this, we must be obedient to the Word of God in spite of what is "legal" in our country.
Then, look at the result! God sets our hearts free and we run in the path of His commands. God grants us freedom in Him and relief from the circumstances that surround us. The more we learn and study God's Word and, by His grace, walk in obedience to His Word, our lives are filled with joy and peace, even in the midst of sorrow.
What a glorious God we have; we are never left alone! He is always there to help and comfort us.
Pray that as the Psalmist in Psalm 119 Vs 25-32, you will constantly study and learn God's Word and then, by His grace, be obedient to that Word. Then you, too, will be filled with God's peace.
