How are you today?
God
I'm not sure how effective the signs were or weren't - I don't even know what their purpose was. We don't have to take a drive to read what God is telling us because the Bible not only tells about God, it often quotes God. Psalm 81:13-16 is one of those passages.
As parents it is sometimes necessary to discipline our children. While we really don't like disciplining them, we do know that it is our job to prepare our children to be come successful law abiding citizens. Without discipline they would never learn how to submit to authority. We would much rather give them gifts and special treats.
Here in Psalm 81 God talks as a father would to His children.
It's plain to see that He longs for us to be obedient to Him so He could protect us from any evil. He, however, knows our hearts. He knows if we truly love Him or are just pretending to love Him. To the true saints (Christians) He would feed us with the finest of food that would fully satisfy us.
My goal in raising my children has been to teach them to fear and obey God. They can fool me, but they cannot ever fool God. I know that one day they will go out into the world. If all they have done is to learn to obey their parents, how will they make the transition to obeying God? So, from an early age I talk with them about loving and fearing God by showing obedience to Him (which also means obedience to their parents).
Pray today that you possess true faith in God for you may hide from other people but God knows your heart.
