Psalm 109
A Bible Devotion from Psalm 109 God Will Save Him from Those who Condemn Him
21 But You, O GOD the Lord, deal with me for Your name's sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me. 22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. 23 I am gone like a shadow when it lengthens; I am shaken off like a locust. 24 My knees are weak through fasting, and my flesh is feeble from lack of fatness. 25 I also have become a reproach to them; when they look at me, they shake their heads.
26 Help me, O LORD my God! Oh, save me according to Your mercy, 27 That they may know that this is Your hand—that You, LORD, have done it! 28 Let them curse, but You bless; when they arise, let them be ashamed, but let Your servant rejoice. 29 Let my accusers be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own disgrace as with a mantle.

30 I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yes, I will praise Him among the multitude. 31 For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those who condemn him.
Psalm 109:21-31
King David was one of the most interesting men from the Bible; his life was never dull. He experienced some of the greatest blessings this life can offer, and yet he suffered some of the greatest griefs as well. It is no wonder that so many of his Psalms, like Psalm 109, reflect upon his suffering. His best friends, and even his own sons turned against him and led rebellions against him.
David knew that his only hope was in the help of the Lord. God had never failed him! And that is exactly the lesson we can take away from Psalms such as this. This same God who protected David during his entire life is the same God we serve today. Like David we may be called to suffer great griefs while on this earth, but we can look to God for help. God stands for us, as He did for David, and saves us from the hands of our enemies.
As in Psalm 109 pray today that God will give you the strength to live this day praising God among all people, because, as a true believer in Christ, God will stand for you.
